Open Source Training now offers Open Training for Joomla, Drupal and WordPress.

A few years ago I attended a Joomla Training Class in Seattle Washington. This was offered by Alledia. This was in my beginning days of learning Joomla. The class was taught by Steve Burge. I walked out of class with a lot of my questions answered and a understanding of Joomla that enabled me to use Joomla in my career as a web designer and SEO professional. After the class I also received support and additional instruction that was instrumental in my continued understanding of Joomal.

Alledia now offers online open source training in the following platforms: Joomla, Drupal and WordPress. As a professional in the web design industry I am finding the Joomla training to be very beneficial for my employees to participate in.

Open Source Joomla Training offers different levels of Joomla Training.

Beginner Level Class – 8 hours o video training covering all the key Joomla concepts.
Template Design Class – Video class covering how to build and modify Joomla templates.
SEO class – Class entails 45 detailed tutorials covering how to optimize a Joomla website.

New tutorials are offered each week generated by student questions. Participating in these classes also comes with two free Joomla templates Bolt and Breeze.

If despite having nothing wrong in particular seemingly with its design or the underlying coding or even the content, a website fails to connect with the customers substantively, it just can’t be called ‘right.’ It’s a heavily missed opportunity in B2B or B2C environment where websites are serving as a strong platform for achieving the marketing and sales objectives. There’s no reversal once a bullet is fired with no aim, but you get a learning lesson that it’s no use firing without a target. So, if you’ve once presented a website failing to appeal to the customers, be careful that your next website does not repeat the same flaws. You can easily find various design experts by searching in Google with Web Design India keywords but you really need to understand the design parameters being followed by those companies.
If you are thinking to have a new website for your company or modifying the existing one, consider the following three important tips before the launch or redesigning surfaces:
Remember your website is for your customers to use. If you labor your eyes reviewing your competitors’ sites for building one of your own, a practice much prevailing, there’s a problem with that. Well, with no critical analysis with you on how well those sites perform what base you would have for any judgment on what to retain and what to reject! Bottom line: It’s not easy to gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace, virtually impossible if your website does not cater to the needs of its users. There’s logic behind matching your web presence to your customers’ web habits. By doing so, you have a unique advantage in that you stand the best chance of winning their trust and cash.

Vote them all Out In 2010 and 2012!

There exists a huge disconnect between the American People and our Government. The American People have voted with their pocketbooks for more freedom of choice and the marketplace has responded. If you don’t believe me, just look at the number of channels on your television set. When I was a kid, I had 3 channels to choose from. Today, my favorite channels are are up in 4 digit territory.

Another example is how our world has become so specialized with information becoming more and more specific. Now with the internet, we have more choices than ever before and none of us want to go back to the days when our primary resource were encyclopedias that were published several years earlier. That cannot compare to being able to go online and get information as it happens.

Business has developed to meet our demand for instant products and services. Sadly our government has not. It still takes the post office a week to deliver my letter. Renewing my driver’s license or license plates is a slow, time consuming experience.

As we look at what is going on in state and federal government, we are witnessing politicians who are going in the exact opposite direction of the real world. They are voting for legislation that will limit our choices and our freedom. Obamacare is the perfect example. It is designed to provide a one size fits all solution to Healthcare. It will limit our choices and bring about rationing when what we want is choices and abundance. Cap and Trade “will necessarily cause costs to skyrocket”. Does that sound remotely like what happens in a free market economy?

I personally take responsibility for my part in what has happened in our government. I was asleep to my constitutional duties. Oh, I voted in every election, but it was usually for the lesser of two evils and then I would go back to trying to advance my career and take care of my family. Today I realize that I allowed this creeping collectivism and loss of personal freedom to sneak up on me, but I am awake now and want my freedom back.

The time has come to wake up and vote principles not party. No longer will I settle for the lesser of two evils. This election we have more candidates to choose from than ever before. The time has come to vote out those in office who have allowed this situation to get to this point.

Theme Building The Foundation Of Optimized Web Design

One concept that needs to be thoroughly understood when developing a website that few Web Designers ever grasp is theme building. There are a few concepts that when understood helps in developing a website structure and navigation.

Every page of a website including the homepage is in itself its own website. This is demonstrated by the fact that each web page has its own specific URL.
Every individual web page should have one and at the most two keywords or keyword phrases to be targeted by the content. In other words every page should only address one and possibly two subjects.

There are six main areas of a web page that are crawled by the search engines that should follow a theme for that page.

Page Title
Meta Description
Menu’s
H-tags
Content
Alt tags

When I develop a web page for one of my client’s websites I take the time to construct a theme for that page. Let me give you an example.

If I were developing a web page for say a Portland OR Web Design and the specific page is about their web design I would develop the page as such.

Page Title-Since this is a geo marketed website meaning their target audience is in Portland OR I would want this in the page title like so. “Portland OR Web Design, website design, Web Designers that care! Notice how I included several variations of the targeted keyword phrase “Portland OR web design. I also include the keywords of Portland OR.
Meta Description-The meta description is very important. To be highly optimized it should include the keyword phrase and at least one variation of that phrase. Also the meta description is viewed by people when your web site shows up in the search results. If I were to write a meta description for this page it would read something like this: Portland OR Web Design, Website Designers and Developers, Optimized Corporate Websites that rock! 555 555 5555. The meta description is written for the search engines as well as the viewing audience.
Menus- Whenever possible to include keyword phrases in the menus that link to your content. This is a textual link and carries power in it when linked to relevant content. What I mean by relevant content is if you have a link that says Portland Web Design and points to a page with those keyword phrases and content that is a well done textural link. Your web pages will benefit in the organic search engines when they have relevant textural links with keywords or keyword phrases in it.
H-tags-H-tags can be very powerful and further define what individual pages are about. H-tags are not to be used for styling! Instead use CSS for styling and make better use of the h-tags, use them the way they were intended to be used for. H-tags should be used in headers to grab the search engines attention. They are like little red flags to the search engines saying “Het look at me, I am important”! There are six H-tags that go form H-1 to H-6. As far as SEO is concerned the H-1 tag does not carry the weight it once had. It has been keyword stuffed so long that the search engines particularly Google does not pay much attention to it as far as giving consideration for how it is used and the content within. You should use your H-tags as headers to break up content. Use it like this, the H-2 tag is in bold.

Content-Content is very important in the view of the search engines. The content of a individual web page should be specific to the keywords or keyword phrase that it is targeting. Alt Tags- Every specific image or graphic installed on a website should be optimized. Optimizing the images for the search engines is simple. When naming the image use keywords and key word phrases in the image name. Images are not viewed by the search engines but he associated alt tags are! Make good use of them.

Since 2008 when fuel prices started going through the roof it has become harder to keep Boat Transport companies going. The economy has affected the Boat Transport industry in several different ways in the last few years.

With no interest in new boat purchases and the costs of fiberglass resin rising, this put boat building companies out of business. A large part of the business of transporting boats is from boat manufactures. You get the picture; a great deal of the available business was lost by this event.

A few of the more innovative and aggressive Boat Transport Companies managed to stay in business. One of the ways Boat Transport companies were able to stay in business was to get aggressive in their Internet marketing. Several Boat Transport Companies hired Web Design Companies to develop a new website. Several invested in Search Engine Optimization Professionals to drive business in their direction.

Fuel prices have come down, but the economy is still hurting financially as the banks are not eager to lend money for toys like boats at this time. This reduces the amount of work moving boats that used to flourish.

New Website For Christian Followers Concerning The Rapture on May 21, 2010.

In our day, and in our tomorrow, we have the benefit of learning from our past and making corrections. This goes for anything from building rockets, riding a bike, and even prophesying Judgement Day, also know as Armageddon and/or the Rapture. One such prophecy is May 21, 2011. It is based on scripture and derived from parabolic language which not only proves that May 21, 2011 is the correct date, but also explains why many such predictions in the past about the end of the world were wrong, including Armageddon for 2012.
One intention of this news is to play a part in separating the wise from the foolish. Of course God is the Judge, the source for all wisdom, and gets all the glory, but there are those who hear His voice through the scriptures (as opposed to dreams and/or visions) and proceed to preach the Gospel to all the world, just as Noah was a preacher of righteousness, and just as Jonah was sent to warn the Ninevites, the true believers or prophets of today are commanded to warn others about May 21, 2011. This is going on outside of any church congregation or denomination. Many ministries are busy spreading the Gospel and focused on this message. Some have a large stage with many radio stations broadcasting around the world, while individuals with even the smallest areas of influence can share with those around them. Technology and communications are in place today for the first time in recent history so that the Gospel with this warning of Judgment Day can reach the four corners of the world.
May 21st, 2011 is not the end of the world, but a day of the rapture, which completes God’s salvation plan for the elect, and the beginning of Armageddon, a five month period starting off with an earthquake of global proportions and ending on October 21, 2011 with total destruction by fire. During this time period, referred to as the Day of Judgment, there is no salvation, only the grave. There was a prophet named Daniel that did get visions of what Judgment Day would look like, and the Bible says it made him sick.
So here we are today, and by God’s mercy given some time to look inwardly at our own hearts while it is still the day of salvation. There is no attempt to convince anyone of anything, as in the end, we will certainly prove God to be true.
