Best new product of the year award acknowledges The Versatilt’s ability to improve productivity and safety while reducing cost in the workplace.
LAS VEGAS, NV – November 19, 2009: REDpoint International, Inc, designer and manufacturer of the Versatilt, received the annual National Ergonomics and Exposition (NECE) Attendee’s Choice Award for best new product in Las Vegas November 18-21, 2009. The Versatilt is a safe patient handling device that allows wheelchair patients to be tilted, while in their wheelchair, to a degree that is optimal for providing professional patient care in the best ergonomic positions possible.
Lenore Kolb, VP of Sales & Marketing for Continental Exhibitions, Inc. – owners/producers of ErgoExpo, stated, “The Attendees’ Choice Awards began in 2002 because we wanted to recognize the many advancements being made in ergonomics and safety products. ErgoExpo attendees and speakers voted for the product they believe will deliver the best opportunity to increase productivity and profitability, while improving workplace health and safety – and REDpoint’s Versatilt was declared the 2009 winner!“
The Versatilt has been on the market since April of this year. It can positively impact the practices and care of dentists, adult care facilities, wound care clinics, dialysis clinics, physical therapy and other protocols that treat wheelchair seated individuals. Treating a patient while in their chair eliminates the need for dangerous transfers aiding in the prevention of injury to the care provider as well as the patient. REDpoint offers two models; the Versatilt Essential which can accommodate up to a 22 inch seat wheelchair and maximum weight of 750 lbs and the Versatilt Champion that can accommodate up to a 36 inch seat wheelchair and maximum weight of 1,500 lbs. FDA cleared as a pressure relief device, the Versatilt also provides exceptional comfort for the patient.
“We are very excited that this year’s NECE attendees selected the Versatilt technology among a field of so many exciting, innovative companies and their products,†said Chuck Nokes, REDpoint’s President and CEO. “The attendees are leaders in the field of ergonomics and they fully understand how providing a safe ergonomic solution in the healthcare work environment can drive positive bottom line results in these economically difficult times. We strongly believe the Versatilt can help improve the working environment for care providers in their diligent treatment of the wheelchair bound. It is very gratifying to be recognized by such an illustrious group of experts. â€
The Versatilt also received Best New Product of 2009 Award at the West Coast Safe Patient Handling Conference held late September in San Francisco. The attendees voted the Versatilt as the most innovative product that will best aid in the safe treatment of non-ambulatory individuals. “To receive two such prestigious awards within two months is beyond our wildest dreams.“ Valerie Vance, REDpoint’s Executive VP, “It validates all the hard work we have put into the project and it motivates us to continue in our quest to develop other products that aid in the care and treatment of the disabled and well as provide the best possible safety of care providers.â€
